Diagnostic X-Ray

Diagnostic X-RAY

What is a diagnostic x-ray?

Radiology is where most people go for Imaging. This section is also called "X-Ray" because of the type of Electromagnetic Radiation used to capture the images of bones and soft tissues onto film or the computer. X-rays are performed for various reasons such as diagnosing bone injuries or tumors. We provide services to all the clinics in the hospital. Our most frequent requests come from Orthopedics, the Emergency Room and Family practice. Special precautions must be taken with pregnant patients. Exposure to radiation during pregnancy may produce birth defects.

Always tell your physician and technologist if you suspect you are pregnant.

After regular duty hours (nights and weekends) we provide services for the Emergency Room, Operating Room, and Inpatient wards.

How do I schedule for an X-ray?

Your physician will order an X-ray for you and you will report to the Department of Radiology on the 2nd floor. You may also call 337-531-3376. Once your request has been verified by the front desk clerk, a Radiology Technologist will then perform the procedure requested by your physician.

* We have "Walk in" service Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. if your physician has requested an X-ray for you.

* If you have an Emergency, go to the Emergency Room. Emergency Room patients will take priority.
