Fort Johnson Families gather for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital hosted a Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day observance at the Angel Baby Tree Memorial Oct. 15, at the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Johnson, Louisiana. The Angel Baby Tree was donated in 1994 to the hospital from grieving parents as a constant and living reminder of the estimated one in four individuals and families whose lives are altered by that death of their children during pregnancy, at birth or in infancy.

Readiness is priority at the Joint Readiness Center but that doesn’t stop with rotational units. Soldiers stationed here remain ready with birth month Soldier readiness processing, otherwise known as SRP. This one stop shop for medical and personal readiness is a win for units and commanders at Fort Johnson, Louisiana.

Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital concluded the annual nurse summer training program with a graduation ceremony in honor of cadet Jasmine Savant, a nursing student from the University of Louisiana, Monroe on Aug. 15 at the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Johnson, Louisiana.

Breastfeeding Awareness Month health fair big hit for BJACH, Fort Johnson

Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital hosted a Breastfeeding Awareness Month Family health fair from 8 a.m. to noon on August 5, at the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Johnson. The event, coordinated by the BJACH Labor, Delivery and Post Partum Ward and the OB/GYN Clinic, was designed to give new and expecting parents an opportunity to learn about lactation, pediatric, behavioral health, and other community resources in a fun and family-friendly atmosphere.

BJACH celebrates the Dog Days of Summer with the Defense Health Agency

The Defense Health Agency hosted a Dog Days of Summer campaign July 24-28, to showcase facility dogs at military medical treatment facilities across the enterprise. Each medical entity with dogs working in their facilities shared stories, photos, and videos of the animals and the important role they play in the health and lives of their patients and staff.
