FORT POLK, La. — The Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk's Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Aviation Regiment has a new leader following a change of command ceremony at Polk Army Airfield Aug. 19.

Army Nurse Summer Training Program offers cadets new experiences

Fort Polk, La. — Reserve Officer Training cadets from universities across the country got hands on experience this summer as part of the Army’s Nurse Summer Training Program. NSTP only accepts top ROTC applicants and Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital, had three of the very best. NSTP cadets had one-on-one training with preceptors from the BJACH emergency, labor delivery and postpartum and mixed medical surgical departments.

BJACH hosts civilian paramedic for demo and comic book discussion

Fort Polk, La. — The Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital’s education and staff development team hosted a tactical casualty care demonstration for Tony Kittrell, CEO, Advent Comics at the Joint Readiness Training Center's medical range on Aug. 13 at Fort Polk, Louisiana.

After treating the “injured” Soldiers, medics strap them to stretchers and ruck marching them to the Joint Readiness Training Center Rear Aid Station to continue the training Aug. 6.

Medics take on new, vital DECM training

Fort Polk, La. — The old adage, “You learn something new everyday,” is true for everyone, but when it comes to medics, those words could be the difference between life and death.

1st Sgt. James Buchanan, will represent Regional Health Command-Central and Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital in the U.S. Army Medical Command 2021 Best Leader Competition at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, July 25-30.

BJACH Soldier Regional Health Command-Central’s Best First Sergeant

FORT POLK, La. — 1st Sgt. James Buchanan, will represent Regional Health Command-Central and Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital in the U.S. Army Medical Command 2021 Best Leader Competition at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, July 25-30. Buchanan earned the title Best First Sergeant in May after finishing first in the RHC-C competition. If he wins this week he will go on to represent MEDCOM in the Army NCO of the Year Competition in the fall.

Fort Polk Main Exchange hosts BJACH COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic

Fort Polk, La. —  Nearly 100 individuals were vaccinated during a COVID-19 vaccination clinic July 24. The event was hosted by the Fort Polk Main Exchanged for Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital’s Department of Public Health. The clinic was open to all Tricare beneficiaries 12 years old and older along with Department of Defense employees and contractors.

Marines get medically ready at JRTC

Fort Polk, La. — Bayne-Jones Army Community hospital conducted periodic health screenings, immunizations and labs for Marines from the 1st Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment during their annual two week training at the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk, Louisiana on July 22.

Connecticut National Guard lab tech trains at BJACH

Fort Polk, LA — The Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital Pathology Department hosted Connecticut National Guardsman Staff Sgt. Andrew Meeker for two weeks of hands on training during his unit’s rotation at the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk this month.
